Accessing Information Held by APUC

A lot of information is available already. Before you decide to make a request, please consider if the information you require is already available and whether it falls within the scope of the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 or the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).

Therefore, before submitting a request, you are advised to take the following steps:

  1. If the information you are seeking is personal information about yourself, it is subject to the legislative requirements of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). Follow the guidance set out in How to Request Personal Data.

  2. As all other information requests are subject to the provisions contained within the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002, search our website to see if the information has already been published.

  3. View our Publication Scheme. The publication scheme describes the information that we publish, the manner in which it is published and the amount, if any, that you must pay to obtain the information.

  4. Inspect the Freedom of Information Request Log. The log provides details of responses we have already provided in answer to previous information requests.

If you still cannot find what you are looking for, or you require information available in a different format, for example in hard copy, please email enquiries@apuc-scot.ac.uk or write to:

Please be as specific as possible about the information you want, as this will help us to find it for you. We will reply within 20 working days.

In responding to your requests for information we will do so in accordance with the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. Some information may not be available because it falls within one of the exemptions of the Act. When that happens, we will tell you which exemption applies and, in most cases, why the information cannot be provided.
